Installing Python 3 and IDE on the Windows 10 Operating System

Installing Python 3 and IDE

Ongkie.com - This is a follow-up post on How to Install Python on Windows 10. In this section, we will install python 3 and the IDE. In order to easily perform the Python 3 installation process on the Windows 10 operating system (which can also be followed for Windows 8.1 / 8/7), first, do the following preparation steps:

1. We will download Python 3 from the official website via the following link: https://www.python.org/downloads/windows/.

2. By clicking on link number 1 or pasting it in the address bar of your browser (Google Chrome is used here), then you are looking for Python, which is a stable release (stable release) version 3.7.5 as the latest version in Python 3.7 . For now, the latest version of Python 3 is version 3.8. The stable release version is in the left column of your browser window.

2. In this step, we will select the Python 3.7.5 executable type for windows platform 64 bit (x86-64): Download the Windows x86-64 executable installer, which is marked with a red box in the picture above.

3. After clicking on the download link, you will be asked where to save the installer file. In this tutorial, I chose it to be saved on the Desktop. Then click the Save button so that the download process runs. Please wait for the download process to appear on your Desktop. The download process depends on the speed of the internet connection you are using.

2. After you double click, the Python 3.7.5 installation dialog box will appear. Please check Add Python 3.7 to PATH by clicking on the checkbox on the lef. By default Python 3.7.5 is equipped with IDLE, pip, and Python language documentation itself.

The purpose of Add Python 3.7 to PATH is that the installer will add this Python 3.7.5 directory so that it will be recognized immediately by the Windows 10 operating system. Thus, when Python is typed through the Command Prompt or Windows Power Shell, it will be immediately recognized by the operating system. Another plus is that if you use another IDE such as PyCharm, VS Code, etc., the IDE will immediately recognize that there is Python installed on Windows 10.

If not selected, you must configure it yourself after the installation process is complete and will be explained when the installation process is complete.

If you select Customize installation, you can choose one of the features, see Figures 2.4, 2.5, and 2.6, but leave it as is.
